People might ask, why go to Texas to hunt exotic wildlife? Well, there's a couple good reasons, the foremost being that most of the species I pursue there are unattainable in their native habitat, either because of their rarity or due to nonhunting policies in their home country. Examples of these include the lovely addax and scimitar-horned oryx, both critically endangered in northern Africa, but thriving on large ranches in Texas. It's not cheap down there, but the variety and availability are terrific, and Texans are great people. Plus you can bring some of the meat home!
